About

AI news, explained

AI and consumer tech, explained. Every story answers one question: what does this actually change for you?

Why this exists

There is no shortage of AI news. There is a shortage of AI news that tells you whether it matters. Most coverage restates an announcement, quotes the press release, and moves on — leaving you to work out whether anything about your week just changed.

NeuralGist covers the same events and answers the question the announcement skips: what does this actually change for you?Sometimes the honest answer is “nothing yet”. We’ll say that too.

What we publish

  • Explained — the news, with the part that matters kept in.
  • Compared— head-to-head on the tools you’d actually decide between.
  • How-to — specific problems, specific versions, actual fixes.
  • Trackers— data we keep current so you don’t have to check twelve tabs.
  • Glossary — plain definitions for words everyone uses and nobody explains.

Who writes it

Real people, named on every article, with profiles you can read. Meet them on the authors page.

How it’s made

We use AI to find stories and assemble facts, and humans to decide, check and sign off. We’re specific about that split rather than vague — read how we work.
